Business: Putting down roots in Far East

A SOFTWARE firm has branched out to the Far East after installing one of its packages at a university in Hong Kong.

Arbortrack Systems, based in Kenilworth, offers bespoke computer software which enables local authorities and companies to keep track of trees in their care, assess risks and draw up maintenance plans.

Consultant arboriculturalist Quentin Nicholls, who runs the firm, has just returned from the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he installed the tree and vegetation management package.

The software will help the estates management office to manage its trees within the university, which is a centre of excellence for tree management and has a collection of shrubs, plants, herbs and trees including many rare specimens.

The contract is the result of several visits to the region with support from international trade advisers at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, UK Trade and Investment, and the commercial arm of the British Consulate in Hong Kong.

Back-to-basics meeting precedes crucial road trip

Richards' line has been totally redone, with Michel Ouellet hurt and Jan Hlavac barely playing on the fourth line.

"(Hlavac) played 35 games, and I kept on hoping he would come around," Tortorella said. "I can't keep hoping. We have to win now."

BOYLE TIMETABLE: Injured defenseman Dan Boyle's on-ice rehab has included a lot of skating and some light stickwork, but it appears his recovery could take another three to five weeks.

"It shouldn't take longer than that," said Boyle's agent, George Bazos. "The big thing with Dan is that once he gets clearance from the doctors, he going to be out there. He doesn't want to get clearance and need another two weeks of skating. When the wrist is ready, Dan's ready."
